All Water Repellents Solutions Are

There are 3 primary types of water repellent products; fluorine-free, C8, and C6. So what’s the difference between them? Toxicity! While our water repellent product, Sciessent Curb, is 100% fluorine-free, rapidly biodegradable, and Bluesign approved, other repellents are far less safe.

C8 and C6 water repellents contain dangerous fluorocarbons which are made of carbon and fluorine atoms. Although these chemicals help repel water and oil from fabrics, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined them to be highly toxic to humans.
