New product line delivers antimicrobial product protection to high traffic commercial bathrooms
Wakefield, MASS., May 15,2012 -Sciessent, makers of Agion® brand antimicrobial technology joins forces with Mincey Marble Manufacturing, Inc., leading manufacturer of cast marble shower walls, shower bases, vanity tops and window sills for commercial use, to launch a bath line that continuously repels microbes for cleaner environments. Specifically built for use in high traffic areas, the Mincey Marble line offers architects, facility managers and designers a new way to keep their bathroom facilities fresher, longer.
Agion branded antimicrobial technology is based on elemental ions and makes products cleaner and longer lasting by providing built-in protection against damaging microbes that may cause staining or discoloration. In this latest application, Agion’s antimicrobial technology will enhance and fortify Mincey Marble’s existing proprietary, non-porous, gel coat surface that naturally repels mold, mildew, bacteria and stains. Unlike other antimicrobial technologies that can wear away, Agion’s antimicrobial solution provides continuous protection against microbes for the useful life of the product.
“By adding Agion® brand antimicrobial to our cast marble formulation, we are able to enhance our customer offerings by ensuring a cleaner environment,” said Donna Mincey, president and chief executive officer for Mincey Marble Manufacturing, Inc. “Maintaining bathrooms in commercial spaces such as hotels, healthcare facilities and public buildings is often a great challenge for building staff. We are proud to partner with Sciessent, a leader in clean technology, to make this challenge easier to overcome for our customers.”
With the ability to design and manufacture its own molds, Mincey Marble stands apart from its competition. In addition to offering the cleanest surface available for large healthcare and university facilities, Mincey creates custom designs for popular hotels and resorts including Marriott, Intercontinental, Hilton, Starwood, Choice, Carlson and Best Western properties.
“We are excited to partner with Mincey Marble to bring a new level of cleanliness to a product line as stylish, trusted and well known as the Mincey brand,” said Paul Ford, chief executive officer of Sciessent.
